During IPMA's World Congress 2014, I will host the workshop 'A musical journey into the undercurrent of your project'. This workshop will be held on Day 3 at 2:00 PM in the Diamond Room 1. If you attend my workshop, you will experience project management best practices with heart, body and soul. You will develop your ability to cause a breakthrough in the effectiveness and performance of your projects. It will bring you new insights in leadership and teamwork. And all of this while having fun, too!
To introduce myself: I am both a professional project manager and musician. As a project manager, I have managed more than 20 projects in Business&ICT-development and Reorganizations. As a musician, I play on several large stages in the Netherlands, studios and session work. With Business Harmonics, I aim to innovate the field of project management by combining musical craftsmanship and project management's best practices. It is a great privilege to be able to deliver a workshop at the upcoming IPMA World Congress. I look forward to meet you and the international community of project managers!
Project Blues?

The performance of your team is influenced by all sort of restrictions, boundaries, risks and demands. However inspiring the project's goal or Business Case, your project execution is often 'limited' by these restrictions. They have an influence on your project and, on a more individual level, on the performance of each team member.
If you could find a way to deal with restrictions in a more pro-active manner (as the prisoner does in the image to the right), it would make the difference between average and high performance teams. You would be in control. But how can you influence performance through music?
There are some wise musical lessons that apply, also for your team. One of them: the Blues will set you free! In my workshop we will play the blues, as it reflects the way people normally deal with the restrictions for your project. Dealing with the Blues also gives you access to the Swing of your project. We will cover that aspect in my workshop as well.
I promise you a musical journey into perceptions, emotions and associations that live in your project. A journey into the 'undercurrent' of your project and how to influence it.
Will you be there?
It would be great to meet lots of colleagues during the World Congress in Rotterdam. The first attendees at my workshop will receive their own blues harmonica, so make sure you are on time! For more details (and last-minute registration) please have a look at the IPMA World Congress' website. If you are interested in more details on my approach, please view Hoe werkt het (in Dutch).
I hope to see you all there, and if you have any questions or remarks on the above, feel free to leave your comments in the box below or contact me.
