To control a project, a project manager can choose from a wide variety of common practices. Most of them deal with ratio: facts, plans, charts, responsibilities, matrices and structures. However valuable, ratio alone will not lead the way into innovative or successful projects. For true innovation and breakthrough performance, controlling a project is not enough. To set up a project for cutting-edge teamwork, in which creativity is unleashed, a project manager will have to take into account another domain: the undercurrent of their project.
The undercurrent is the domain of emotions, associations, intuition and inspiration. This domain sets the context in which people will act, and it shapes their actions. It is how people perceive the project, and that has a huge impact on their performance. It is sometimes hard to grasp or control, but crucial to the success of a project. Influencing the undercurrent of the project is the pathway to breakthrough performance, still operating within the structure of the project.
The workshop is an introduction into the available practices to help you influence the undercurrent in your projects. Participants will practice with tools and distinctions that create an inspiring context for their project, transform project obstacles and obtain guidance for structuring their projects. These tools and distinctions can cause a breakthrough in project performance.
